Pink Salt –The better alternative to Table salt

Pink salt is also called as Rock salt or Himalayan salt. It is found in The Himalayan mountain range that stretches across Asia passing through China, Nepal, Myanmar, Pakistan, Bhutan, Afghanistan, and India. It is a belief of many people that shades of pink, red and white are an indication of this salt's rich and varying mineral and energy-rich iron content

Table salt: It's a Slow Health Killer

Table salt is composed of 97.5% sodium chloride and 2.5% chemicals like iodine and absorbents, and sugar. It is also dried at more than 1,200° Fahrenheit, a process which zaps many of the natural chemical structures.

Our body while processing salt turns it into sodium chloride, an unnatural salt that it sees as toxic. The body cannot dispose of it in a natural, healthy way which can often lead to irritation of the tissues, water retention and high blood pressure. A few studies have shown that for each gram of table salt your system cannot process, your body will use over twenty times the amount of cellular water to neutralize the sodium chloride in chemically-treated salt. This is a common cause for cellulite, rheumatism, arthritis, gout, as well as kidney and gallbladder stones.

Pink Salt –The better alternative to Table salt.

Pink salt or Himalayan salt is said to be the purest form of sea salt. Commercial refined salt is not only stripped of all its minerals, besides sodium and chloride, but is also chemically cleaned, bleached and heated at unnecessary high temperatures. Finally, the iodine that is added into salt is usually synthetic which is difficult for your body to process properly.

Pink Salt on the contrary is pure. It is millions of years old and pure, untouched by many of the toxins and pollutants that pervade other forms of ocean salt. It also has less sodium consumed per serving.

It is made of the same components as table salt but since the crystal structure is larger than refined salt, and by volume- this salt therefore has LESS sodium per 1/4 t. serving- because the sea salt crystals or flakes take up less room on a teaspoon than highly refined tiny table salt grains.

Here are a few benefits of replacing table salt with Pink Salt.

  1. It enhances water absorption and maintains PH level.
  2. It has Less sodium consumed per serving
  3. Acts as an anti-oxidant
  4. Stabilizes blood pressure.
  5. It improves appetite, removes gas and soothes heartburn.
  6. It is rich in iodine, so it doesn't need to be artificially added in
  7. It is rich is 80+ minerals and elements. It is made up of made up of 85.62% sodium chloride and 14.38% other trace minerals including: sulphate, magnesium, calcium, potassium, bicarbonate, bromide, borate, strontium, and fluoride (in descending order of quantity).
  8. A pinch of rock salt mixed with 1 tea spoon of ginger juice increases appetite and aids digestion.
  9. Rock salt is also used as home remedy in various health conditions like arthritis, herpes and insect bites.
  10. It helps in reduce cramps.
  11. This salt can be used as teeth whitener.
  12. It can be used as body scrub. It exfoliates dead skin and increases glow of skin.
  13. It can also be used as foot scrub, hand scrub or for foot bath.
  14. A pinch of rock salt mixed with 1 tea spoon of ginger juice increases appetite and aids digestion.

It may initially seem like a tough choice to switch to Pink Salt, but this small step may have a big impact on your health.

Pretty Pink

My daughter would love the pink color of this salt. I personally have not tried pink salt because I prefer good old iodized table salt. Salt is salt, really.
