Natural home remedy

Natural home remedies are safe and useful for the common ailments. Most of the non-life threatening illness can be treated athome. Below are 10 most common remedies.

 

Sunburn

To deal with sunburn, you can always rely on coconut oil. Its fatty acid content helps reduce inflammation and revitalize the skin. Also, its moisturizing property prevents skin peeling, a common symptom of sunburn.

 

Cough& Congestion

Honey is a time-honored remedy for a sore throat. It can also relieve coughs more effectively than over-the-counter medicines that contain dextromethorphan (DM), a cough suppressant. You can create your own remedy by mixing honey with herbal tea, or warm water and lemon. The honey does the soothing, while lemon juice can help with congestion.

 

Natural sleep remedy

Tart cherry juice is a natural sleep aid because it’s full of tryptophan, an essential amino acid that coverts to serotonin, which then coverts to melatonin. Melatonin helps maintain our sleep and wake cycle by causing drowsiness and lowers body temperature, working with the central nervous system to sync our biological clock. A ½ cup to a 1 cup of tart cherry juice is a tasty way to drift off to sleep, and is a natural sleep aid.

 

Constipation

Pure olive oil is more than just a healthy and tasty fat, it can also help relieve constipation. It stimulates your digestive system, which helps get things moving through your colon, and taken regularly it can prevent constipation as well. Mix 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice (optional) and consume one tablespoon of olive oil/mixture. It works best on an empty stomach.

 

Toenail fungus

Apple cider vinegar is one of the best home remedies for toenail fungus due to the presence of antimicrobial properties. It helps kill the fungus causing the infection, and its mild acidic nature will also prevent the infection from spreading. Mix equal amounts of apple cider vinegar and lukewarm water. Soak the infected toenail in this solution for half an hour.

 

Bad Breath

Parsley leaves are rich in chlorophyll, nature's own deodorizer. Chew some leaves regularly and your breath will remain fresh. Alternatively, you can chew some cardamom seeds to sweeten your breath.

 

Hiccups

Roast some peppercorns and breathe deeply. Your hiccups will stop at once.

 

Toothache

Apply clove oil on the infected area or put the clove between the affected teeth.       

    

Warts

Place some chopped onions in a dish, cover with salt and leave overnight. Twice a day apply resulting juice to the warts until they disappear.

 

Heart Burn

A tea spoon of baking soda can help put an end to the gnawing, burning, sensation of heartburn caused by acid reflux. Mix either a ½ teaspoon or 1 single teaspoon of baking soda into a glass of water that is no more than 8 ounces. Stir and drink the mixture for instance relief.
