Apple Cider Vinegar – The amazing benefits it offer

For centuries, vinegar has been used for various household and cooking purposes but most importantly, it has been used as a folk remedy, to cure everything from the flu to cramping. It is also is also know to help promote health by controlling diabetes, heart problems, high cholesterol, and weight issues.

Below are a few reasons that I always make sure to have apple cider vinegar handy in my pantry.

Diabetes Prevention:

Apple cider vinegar is known to lower blood sugar levels. In one study participants took two tablespoons of Apple cider vinegar before bed and saw their blood sugar 4 to 6 percent by the time they woke. The anti-glycemic effect of the acid in apple cider vinegar is what helps with insulin sensitivity.

Helps in Weight Loss

Consuming Apple cider vinegar can help you feel more full, which can help you eat less. A study has also shown acetic acid, found in Apple cider vinegar, to slow fat accumulation. Have a 1 tbsp. diluted in water before your main meal to see the benefits.

Detox your body

Apple cider vinegar can be used to detox your body. It aids in the removal of toxins and detoxify the liver. The acid in Apple cider vinegar bind to toxins and thus assist in removing toxins from the body. Apple cider vinegar's potassium content helps to break up mucus in the body and clearing the lymph nodes.

It balances your body's pH levels

Although vinegar is obviously acidic, it actually has a neutralizing effect once it's inside of you. It makes your body's pH more basic (i.e., alkaline) which could mean better bone health.

Energize our body

Fatigue is commonly caused by increased in lactic acid. Apple cider vinegar has a high amino acids, potassium and enzyme content which helps reduce levels of lactic acid in the body which comes from exertion of energy and stress.

Reduces cramping

Apple Cider vinegar helps dissolve the acid crystals in your blood. It also provide an added dose of potassium, calcium, and other minerals that are essential for the joints in your body. Which in turns reduce cramping.

Helps in digestion

Apple cider vinegar is known to help in digestion of food. Take 1-2 tbsp. diluted apple cider vinegar (mixed in water) to help settle that stomach. It's the antibiotic properties and bacteria fighting power of ACV that help. Some say the pectin in apple cider vinegar also helps with intestinal spasms.

Soothes a sore throat

Apple cider vinegar helps fights the infection. Gargle equal parts warm water and apple cider vinegar at the first sign of a sore throat to keep the infection away.

Clears a stuffy nose

Apple cider vinegar contains potassium, which thins mucus; and the acetic acid in it prevents bacteria growth, which could contribute to nasal congestion.

My favorite benefit is the weight loss. Which one is your favorite?

My mom was just asking me about a natural helper for digestion, perfect timing. I've also used it when washing my hair, it works wonders.

I've been taking apple cider vinegar for a couple of weeks now to help with my digestion and inflammation caused by food issues. I didn't know about it detoxing the lymph nodes! That's probably one of my favorites!
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge on this. :)

A Key Ingredient!

Ah yes! I love apple cider vinegar. I've found it's super good at tackling eczema too, particularly the blistery kind I get. I'm constantly amazed by what miracle cures nature has to offer!

I love ACV! I made a batch last year and am very surprised at how much better it is than any store bought bottles that I have ever bought. I have never even thought about using it with a sore throat. I'll have to remember that for the next time. Thank you for sharing with Thankful Thursdays. I'm sorry I didn't get over here sooner, but I kept having problems accessing the site.
