Green Tea - the next healthy drink after water.

Green Tea is the most sought after health drink after water. Originating in China, its extract has become the raw material for various health food, dietary supplements, beverages, and cosmetic item. It is loaded with polyphenols like flavonoids and catechins, which function as powerful antioxidants. Green tea is the best food source of a group called catechins. Catechins are more powerful than vitamins C and E in halting oxidative damage to cells and appear to have other disease-fighting properties. Green tea is made from the leaves from Camellia sinensis that have undergone minimal oxidation during processing thus making it healthier than black tea. Studies have shown that consuming green tea can offer various health benefits including reduce cancer risk, diabetes, ,blood pressure, heart disease and help in weight loss. Cancer -Green tea has catechins, and the most important catechin seems to be epigallocatechin gallate (sometimes called epigallocatechin-3-gallate or EGCG). EGCG may help cause certain types of cancer cells to die Diabetes -Green tea help regulate the glucose levels and prevents high insulin spikes

Weight Loss - Green tea increases the metabolism and the rate at which your body turns food into calories. Heart Disease - Scientists believes that green tea helps prevent heart disease. It works on the lining of blood vessels, helping them better able to withstand changes in blood pressure.

Tooth Decay - Studies suggests antioxidant “catechin” found in the tea destroy bacteria throat infections and tooth decay.

Blood Pressure -Regular consumption of green tea is thought to reduce the risk of high blood pressure.

Skincare -Green tea has antioxidant proprieties which helps in reducing aging and beautiful skin.

There are lots of other benefits offered by the green tea. I just believe that by swapping one glass of sugary drink with a cup of green tea is step towards healthy life.
